A ring groove riveting machine is a specialized industrial tool designed to join materials by deforming ring groove rivets, which feature a cylindrical shank with a circumferential groove. The machine clamps the rivet, applies concentrated force to expand the shank into the groove, creating a high-strength, vibration-resistant joint. This process is widely used in aerospace, automotive, construction, and heavy machinery industries where permanent, reliable connections are critical.
Working Principle
Rivet Installation: The rivet is inserted through pre-drilled holes in the workpieces.
Clamping & Deformation: The machine's tooling grips the rivet tail, while a mandrel pulls it through the groove. As the mandrel tightens, the rivet shank expands into the groove, forming a bulbous head on both sides.
Joint Formation: The deformed rivet locks the materials together, with the groove ensuring uniform load distribution and preventing loosening.
