Definition and Function
Definition: The excavator wood grabber is a professional accessory installed on the forearm of the excavator. It belongs to the special attachment in the field of engineering machinery, also known as wood clamp, wood grabber, etc.
Function: It is mainly used for loading and unloading materials such as wood, metal, stone, etc., covering forest farms, port terminals, scrap metal processing and other scenes. Its core function is to realize the opening and closing and rotation of the claws through hydraulic or mechanical drive, so as to accurately grasp and place materials.
Structure: The excavator wood grabber is mainly composed of claws, cylinders, slewing motors, slewing bearings and other components. The claws are usually made of high-hardness wear-resistant steel to ensure service life and grasping force; the cylinder realizes the grasping and releasing of the claws by telescoping; the slewing motor and slewing bearing realize the rotation function of the claws.
Working principle: Taking the hydraulic wood grabber as an example, its working principle is to use the hydraulic pump of the excavator as the power source, transmit power to the hydraulic motor, convert hydraulic energy into mechanical energy, and drive the pinion installed on the output shaft of the hydraulic motor to rotate. The pinion meshes with the inner ring of the slewing bearing, driving the inner ring of the slewing bearing to rotate, and then driving the claw component to rotate with the inner ring of the slewing bearing. When the angle required to grab the material is reached, the excavator stops supplying oil to the hydraulic motor, and the hydraulic motor stops working. At the same time, the brake inside the motor body or superimposed on it works, so that the claw is accurately positioned in the material pile. At this time, the excavator is operated to supply oil to the small cavity of the hydraulic cylinder, the cylinder retracts, and the claw opens to grab the material; the control valve is operated to supply oil to the large cavity of the hydraulic cylinder, the hydraulic cylinder extends outward, the claw closes, grabs the material and holds it tightly. The working mechanism of the main machine is operated to rotate, and the hydraulic system supplies oil to the hydraulic motor, and the grabber rotates.
